Here is a story and pics of our ride last Sunday. Hope you enjoy it.

6 consecutive days without rain in Vancouver - in November ... who would have thunk it? We decide set out on a Grand Tour of Mount Seymour, starting at possibly the highest non-waterlogged spot on the mountain: the old dynamite shed. The plan is to do the awesome foursome of TNT,Dale's Trail,Boogieman and The Empress. We take a run down TNT, which is nice and dry. Those roots can really screw you up:

They remind me of the hydra-like alien in that "Alien" sequel (I think it was "Aliens") - only even more deadly when wet. In the perfect dry conditions, Kirk flies over the tentacles of the beast.

We proceed down to Dale's Trail, perhaps the most underrated ride on the Mountain. Dale's is fairly steep with a mixture of rock faces (JimW going down one here)

and fancy woodwork, which JimC rides here

Dale's meets/excceds stunt quota with a token teeter-totter. Here is JimW adding still more degrees of freedom:

There is an interesting rock face near the end of Dale's. The hardest part is actually riding to the edge

the rest involves normal breathing and a pair of steady hands, which JimC is about to demo for us.

The reason that Dale's Trial is so loathed is that the best riding after that is only accessible through a lungbusting climb up the powerlines. We put in the required work and soon are on Boogieman.

JimW puts on a skinny-riding clinic as a prelude to the rock-face riding one he put on later (didn't get any good pics of that):

Monte - now this guy was a blur all through the ride

Here is JimC on a perennial Boogieman favourite, the f*@king long ladder ride over the swamp:

This thing is truly a work of art, one of the 7 Wonders of the North Shore. 150+ continuous feet of sturdy, elevated Old World craftswomanship.

We get down to the bottom, mission accomplished. The Old Buck Parking lot is a zoo ... traffic jams of riders coming and going.
